It was COLD again yesterday! \u00a0And last night was what they call a “hard freeze”. \u00a0 But it’s still time for gardening! \u00a0If we are going to have spring veggies in April, they have to start growing now.<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at the garden at the end of February.<\/p>\n

The temperature in the garden last night (February 27) was 24 degrees. \u00a0It was hard to imagine this was still in our future the last couple of weeks when we were enjoying those lovely 70’s.<\/p>\n

For the record, according to the USDA chart, even in a normal year we would still have a 50-50 chance of at least one more freeze like that. And a 90% chance of lesser freezes. And this year has been anything but normal. \u00a0Needless to say, only the hardiest of veggies are actually going into the garden right now.<\/p>\n
