We won’t be at the market this week. \u00a0 The veggies need a little time to recuperate from the heat and home and family needs a little TLC.<\/p>\n
The garden is in one of those between-times. \u00a0Summer heat takes a toll on tomatoes and green beans about now – but they’ll be back once the heat lets up. \u00a0Our local bunnies have taken more than their share of the edamame soybeans – we are making efforts to negotiate a truce, but so far the bunnies are not cooperating. \u00a0 We’ll re-plant inside the new bunny-fence and hope for a late summer crop.<\/p>\n
Not everything is hurting: \u00a0The peppers and okra, Red Ripper peas and melons – are all doing just fine.<\/p>\n
Pumpkins, sweet potatoes, popcorn and winter squash are already growing for fall. \u00a0 Fingerling potatoes and fall-crop potatoes are soon to be planted. \u00a0Lettuces, cabbages, broccoli \u00a0and fall tomatoes are starting in pots. \u00a0 \u00a0It may take a little time, but the garden will be in full bloom again, soon.<\/p>\n
