Now is the time to sign up for the spring CSA, if you have been waiting. If you are already on the waiting list, you should receive an email from us in the next day or so. When spaces are full, we’ll add you to the wait list and let you know.
We’ve learned from the wonderful folk who helped us kick this off last year, and hope a few changes will make your commitment to healthy, local eating even more convenient and cost efficient.
First – You can choose how many weeks of veggies you’d like to receive. Each season is only 10 weeks long – but if you have a trip planned, just let us know at the beginning of the season when you’ll be gone. No need to pay for veggies you can’t use.
We’ll be using plastic tubs this year to deliver your veggies. This will allow us to clean and re-use the tubs each week, as well as making it possible for us to include an ice-pack when appropriate to help keep your veggies really fresh. Bringing your own bags to transfer your veggies into to take them home would be helpful.
If you need to avoid any particular produce item, just let us know and we’ll leave it out of your share. We can’t always promise to replace it with something else, but when we can, we’re happy to do that.
We’ll be starting a CSA cookbook – with recipe ideas shared by our customers – and you are encouraged to share your own ideas, as well. We are all in this ‘learning to eat healthy’ mode together. We need each other.
And this year, we’ll be inviting you to come help in the garden, if you choose to, and planning a garden party for late May or early June for all our customers. There is a lot of garden fun to be had – and we’d love for you to be part of it, if you’d like.
